NOLA CPP volunteers and staff are often asked what we do and what is a CPP. We often do not have time for a complete description, so here is a 30 second Elevator Speech to describe what a CPP is and why it is important:
“A Citizen Participation Program is a powerful tool for communication between citizens and city government. It ensures that full, accurate information flows from government to citizens at the beginning of the decision-making process; that citizens have the opportunity to come together for open and informed dialogue about issues that impact their lives; and that citizen input flows back to city decision-makers in a way that both benefits and holds accountable the city and the community.”
We challenge you to memorize this so that you too can amaze and inform your friends and neighbors about Citizen Participation Programs!
